Lessons learned from living away from family

1.     Home can be found in places and in people.

2.     Moving out of your hometown doesn’t mean you don’t love your family.

3.     You are going to miss out on things. A lot of the time, that will make you sad.

4.     You are going to experience wonderful, new things. A lot of the time, that will make you happy.

5.     The time you do spend with family will become more precious.

6.     The most important home décor are framed photos of the people you love.

7.     It’s important to build your own home and version of family in this new place.

8.     If you can afford it, have at least one guest room. Make sure the sheets are always fresh.

9.     Learn how to make some of your mom’s favorite recipes. Cook those on days you are homesick.

10.  You can always go home again.
